COUNTDOWN TO WFTC 2020
When will the competition take place?
WFTC 2020 will be held over 5 days, in August 2020. The 19th August (Wednesday) will be the first day of the event and will be used for sign-in and zeroing. The opening ceremony will be held on that evening as well. The next three days, the 20th, 21st & 22nd Thursday to Saturday), will be used for the competition on the three 50-shot courses, and the closing and awards ceremony will take place in the afternoon of Sunday 23rd August.
It is the end of winter and minimum evening temperatures are 5-8⁰C up to 25-28⁰C in the day. We have limited daylight hours at this time of year, from sunrise at 6.30 am to sunset at 5.30 pm so we will only have one session with a maximum of 300 shooters. With all the on-site amenities and activities we anticipate there will be plenty to keep everyone occupied in or out of the competition.

The safe and secure all-inclusive resort with its perfect atmosphere is situated less than an hour from both Pretoria and Johannesburg, 144km/89 miles from OR Tambo International Airport, and is just a stone’s throw away from the world-renowned Sun City.
Buffelspoort resort offers a vast variety of self-catering accommodation from luxury chalets and tented houses (sleeping 4), to the modern luxury Magalies Villa units (sleeping 6). All the units come equipped with an open-plan kitchen and living area, one (1) or two (2) bathrooms, and a patio with a built-in braai.
With both cold and heated swimming pools, a spa, recreational facilities and activities, a restaurant, a fast-food section and a well-equipped shop, the resort is the ideal base from where you can explore the wealth of nearby tourist attractions.
The area is a popular tourist destination which offers a range of activities from thrilling adventures to the more sedated depending on what you seek. South Africa also successfully hosted the 1995 Rugby World Cup, the 2010 FIFA World Cup as well as World Championships in a variety of sports.
That is not all there is to this versatile location, the Cradle of Humankind, known as one of the eight World Heritage sites is less than an hour’s drive from the resort. The Cradle is home to more than 3 dozen limestone caves containing some of the earliest hominid fossils ever discovered.
The Championship will be held on a farm adjacent to the resort. The essence of Africa will be reflected in the layout and design thereof.

How much will it cost?
Entry to the competition will be R2500 per competitor. This will include a seat at both the opening as well as the closing ceremony for the competitor. Also included is a bean bag fill.
Additional places for the opening ceremony R300p/p and additional places for the prize giving R400p/p. PCP Team entry will be R1500 per team. Springer team entry will be R1000 per team.
For those wishing to attend the WFTF Marshaling Course, cost is R500. Additionally there will be a Course Design presentation for R150
